Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that helps companies set ambitious targets for reducing their greenhouse gas emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.

SBTi provides companies with a set of guidelines and tools to set science-based targets for reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative works with companies to ensure that their targets are in line with the best available science and are consistent with limiting global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Paris Agreement.

SBTi has set a standard for what constitutes a science-based target, and companies that commit to setting and achieving these targets are recognized by the initiative. By setting science-based targets, companies are demonstrating their commitment to addressing climate change and contributing to a sustainable future.

Overall, the Science Based Targets initiative is an important global initiative that is helping companies to set ambitious targets for reducing their greenhouse gas emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. By providing companies with the tools and guidance to set science-based targets, SBTi is helping to drive action on climate change and promote sustainability.
